The digital medical record becomes a reality: The “eSănătatea Mea” platform launches in September
Starting in September, the medical system in Romania will undergo a significant digital transformation. The National Health Insurance House (CNAS) has announced the nationwide launch of the “eSănătatea Mea” (My eHealth) platform, a portal created to simplify the interaction between patients and the public health system.
The new platform will centralize all medical information of insured persons in one place, accessible online. Patients will be able to view their medical history, prescriptions issued by doctors, as well as the referral slips required for further investigations. Additionally, users will have the opportunity to verify the medical services that have been reimbursed by the state on their behalf.
In addition to access to medical documents, the authorities have planned the gradual development of additional functionalities. In the future, the platform will also allow for scheduling doctor appointments directly through the portal, thereby eliminating the need for unnecessary trips or repeated phone calls to medical offices.
This project is part of a broader strategy for the digitalization of public administration in Romania. The main objective is to reduce bureaucracy and provide greater transparency regarding how health funds are used, while simultaneously offering patients better control over their own medical records.
The launch of the “eSănătatea Mea” platform represents an essential step for the modernization of the Romanian healthcare system. Authorities hope that, through this tool, access to health information will become faster and more efficient for all insured citizens.
