Changes in the leadership of public media institutions: Sorina Matei and Răzvan Dincă appointed as interim heads of TVR and Radio Romania
The Parliament of Romania made an important decision on Tuesday regarding the management of public media institutions. The Joint Standing Bureaus voted to appoint journalist Sorina Matei and Răzvan Dincă to the interim leadership positions of the Romanian Television (TVR) and the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, respectively.
This change comes after the mandates of the former directors, Adriana Săftoiu and Robert Schwartz, came to an end. The new appointments were made to ensure the continuity of operations within these institutions, which are essential for informing the public in Romania.
According to the official decision, Sorina Matei and Răzvan Dincă will hold these positions for a limited period of 60 days. During this interval, Parliament is set to identify solutions for organizing competitions or appointing permanent leadership, in compliance with the legislation in force.
The role of these institutions is to provide balanced information and cultural programming for all citizens of the country. The public will follow with interest how the new interim heads will manage the activities of the public television and radio stations over the next two months.
This administrative transition represents a moment of focus for the Romanian media landscape. It remains to be seen what measures the new leaders will adopt to improve the quality of broadcast content and to maintain the trust of viewers and listeners in the public media service.
