Romania invests in technology: A new “deep-tech” hub to be funded by the end of the year
Romanian authorities have announced ambitious plans for the development of the national technology sector. By the end of this year, the Government aims to secure the necessary funding for the creation of a “deep-tech” hub, a center specialized in advanced technologies and innovation.
The project will be supported through cohesion funds provided by the European Union. The main goal of this initiative is to stimulate research and development in complex fields, offering support to companies and specialists working on cutting-edge technological solutions.
The relevant minister emphasized the importance of this investment, noting that Romania can no longer limit itself to just completing basic projects. A change in strategy is necessary to become competitive at the European level and to attract talent in the digital and scientific fields.
This hub will function as a collaborative space between academia, the private sector, and state institutions. The intention is for innovative ideas to be transformed more quickly into products and services that can be used on the global market through this infrastructure.
The implementation of this project represents an important step for the digitalization of the Romanian economy. Authorities hope that, by supporting innovation, Romania will succeed in closing the technological gap compared to other European Union member states and create new job opportunities for young specialists.
