Minister of Health requests an emergency audit of medicine stocks in Romania
Interim Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, recently announced that he has ordered the initiation of an urgent national-level inspection. This measure aims to verify the entire monitoring mechanism for medicine stocks available in pharmacies and hospitals across the country.
The decision comes in the context of authorities wanting to ensure that patients have uninterrupted access to necessary treatments. The audit aims to identify potential problems in the supply system and prevent shortages of essential medicines on the Romanian market.
Control teams will analyze how stocks are reported and how efficiently the distribution flow to healthcare units is managed. Authorities will verify whether the data in the IT systems corresponds to the reality on the ground, in order to avoid supply bottlenecks.
In the coming period, the Ministry of Health will centralize all information obtained following these checks. The results of the audit will be used to improve current procedures and to guarantee better management of medical resources at a national level.
