Stinging fines for tourists who park illegally on the beaches of Vadu and Corbu

Romanian authorities have begun a series of strict inspections on the wild beaches of Vadu and Corbu, protected areas within the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve. These measures were taken to protect the environment and to prevent the destruction of local ecosystems caused by unauthorized vehicle access.

Following recent checks, representatives of the control institutions issued over 40 sanctions. Most of these targeted tourists who chose to park their cars or caravans directly on the sand, thus violating current legislation regarding environmental protection and the regime of protected natural areas.

Of the total sanctions, 26 were contravention fines, each worth 1,000 lei. The authorities emphasized that these actions will continue throughout the summer season, with the goal of discouraging behaviors that affect the area's biodiversity.

Representatives of the reserve remind visitors that vehicle access to the beach is strictly prohibited. Tourists are advised to use only specially designated parking areas, thus avoiding the risk of receiving fines and contributing to the preservation of the natural beauty of the Romanian coast.
