The “Heart Laboratory” project has been launched to improve cardiovascular health in Romania
On the occasion of World Heart Day, the Coalition of Organizations of Patients with Chronic Conditions (COPAC) and the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest announced the launch of an important new medical project titled “Heart Laboratory.” This initiative aims to increase awareness regarding cardiovascular diseases and provide better access to information and prevention for citizens.
The project focuses primarily on the Bucharest region and the counties near the capital. Medical teams will carry out activities dedicated especially to residents of Călărași, Ialomița, Buzău, and Giurgiu counties. These areas were chosen to provide support to communities that need closer monitoring of heart health.
Cardiovascular diseases represent one of the leading causes of death in Romania, and doctors emphasize that prevention is essential. Through the “Heart Laboratory,” specialists will offer consultations, advice on a healthy lifestyle, and information on how to recognize the dangerous symptoms of heart conditions.
The organizers hope that this effort will encourage Romanians to go to the doctor more often for routine check-ups. Through the collaboration between the academic environment and patient associations, the project aims to reduce the number of medical complications and improve the quality of life for people already suffering from chronic conditions.
