Innovation in Timișoara: International specialists explore technologies for protecting cultural heritage
The King Mihai I University of Life Sciences in Timișoara has become the center of a large-scale international initiative dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage through modern technologies. The event brings together experts, researchers, and students from 14 countries, all concerned with finding effective solutions for the protection of monuments and historical objects.
The main goal of this project is the integration of advanced digital tools into the restoration and monitoring processes of historical sites. Participants are analyzing how technology can help prevent the degradation of old buildings and how 3D scanning or artificial intelligence can be used to properly document our cultural past.
For Romania, this event represents a valuable opportunity to exchange experience with world-renowned specialists. Romanian students have the chance to learn new techniques, which they will be able to apply later in local conservation projects, thus contributing to the saving of important tourist and historical landmarks in the country.
The organizers emphasize that protecting heritage is not only a responsibility of the authorities, but also a technological challenge that requires international collaboration. Through this exchange of knowledge, Timișoara strengthens its position as an academic and cultural hub, demonstrating that innovation can play a decisive role in preserving cultural identity for future generations.
