International medical mission: A Romanian patient has been transferred to Belgium for treatment

A Romanian patient, who suffered severe burns, was urgently transported to Belgium with the help of an aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force. The mission was organized by the Ministry of National Defense, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, to provide the victim with access to specialized medical care at a renowned European center.

This operation is part of the Romanian authorities' ongoing efforts to ensure complex treatments for patients with severe burns when domestic resources are limited. The transport was carried out safely, with a medical team monitoring the patient's condition throughout the flight to the city of Liège.

As part of the same mission, the military aircraft will not return to the country empty. On the return journey, the plane will bring another Romanian patient back to Romania, who had been treated in Belgium since July of this year. They have completed the critical stage of medical care and will continue the recovery process in medical facilities in Romania.

Such humanitarian flights are essential for the Romanian medical system, facilitating international cooperation in crisis situations. The authorities continue to collaborate with European partners to ensure the rapid transfer of patients who require advanced medical expertise abroad.
