Ten years of innovation: The FIRST Tech Challenge program has trained over 10,000 Romanian students in robotics
The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics program in Romania recently celebrated ten years of activity, marking a decade of technological education and innovation for young people in our country. This initiative has become a benchmark for students passionate about science and engineering, providing them with the necessary framework to develop practical skills in a field of the future.
Over the last ten years, the program's impact has been significant. More than 10,800 students have actively participated in the competitions, supported by 550 mentor teachers and 600 dedicated volunteers. In total, 236 robotics teams from across Romania have managed to build complex robots, demonstrating creativity and team spirit in the face of technical challenges.
The success of this program shows the growing interest of young Romanians in technology and applied robotics. By participating in FTC, students not only learn to program or build mechanisms, but also develop essential skills for the job market, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Looking to the future, FIRST Tech Challenge Romania continues to be an important platform for preparing new generations of engineers and specialists. The success of this project demonstrates that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education plays an essential role in the development of Romanian society and in shaping the future professionals who will innovate in the technological field.
