Romania and Ukraine begin joint production of military drones in Cluj-Napoca
Romania and Ukraine have announced the launch of a major strategic project for the defense industry. The two countries will collaborate to produce military drones directly on Romanian territory, specifically in the city of Cluj-Napoca. This initiative aims to strengthen technical and military capabilities in the current regional security context.
In the first stage of this project, the production units in Cluj-Napoca will focus on manufacturing three types of drones. These include FPV (First Person View) drones, drones specialized in interception, and drones intended for reconnaissance missions. These unmanned aerial vehicles are essential in modern conflicts, providing rapid information and precision on the ground.
The collaboration between Romanian and Ukrainian companies represents an important step for the local technology industry. The specialists involved in this project are already working on developing the assembly lines, and the first units are expected to leave the factory gates in the near future. Authorities aim for this partnership to bring innovation and support national security.
This project is not only a defense measure but also an opportunity for economic development for the Cluj region. By attracting investment in military technology, Romania strengthens its role as a strategic partner within NATO and the European Union. Further details regarding exact delivery timelines and the factory's total production capacity are expected to be provided in the coming period.
