Post-election political discussions: Possible alliances for forming the new Government

Following the conclusion of the elections, the political scene in Romania is in a phase of intense negotiations to form a new parliamentary majority. Party leaders are analyzing various collaboration options to ensure the stability of the government in the coming period.

PSD deputy Alexandru Rogobete recently stated that a viable option for the future coalition could be formed by the PSD, UDMR, the national minorities group, and unaffiliated parliamentarians. This formula would allow for the adoption of government decisions without the need for support from the Save Romania Union (USR).

Regarding a possible collaboration with AUR, Social Democratic representatives mentioned that the party leadership's official position remains one of reservation. They emphasized that an alliance with AUR is not being considered, given the major differences in political vision between the two parties.

Currently, political parties are continuing consultations to find the best governance solution. The main objective of these discussions is to create a solid parliamentary majority capable of managing the country's economic and social priorities in the coming years.
