Government launches TechUp Romania program: 5.3 billion lei for advanced technologies
The Romanian government has recently approved a new state aid scheme, titled "TechUp Romania," aimed at supporting companies that invest in advanced technologies. This initiative has an impressive budget of 5.3 billion lei, with the main goal of stimulating innovation and the digitalization of the local business environment.
The program is designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adopt modern technological solutions necessary to remain competitive in the European market. The funds can be used for investments in equipment, software, or other processes that facilitate the transition to a technology-based economy.
However, the funding is not accessible to every company. Authorities have established strict eligibility criteria, focusing on firms that demonstrate high growth potential and operate in strategic sectors. Interested entrepreneurs must meet certain conditions related to turnover, number of employees, and specific field of activity.
This measure comes in a context where digitalization is essential for Romania's economic development. By offering this financial support, the state hopes to accelerate the modernization of industrial processes and encourage the development of innovative technological solutions created right here in our country.
In the coming period, the authorities will publish the official applicant's guide, which will contain all the details regarding the steps necessary for registration. Companies wishing to access these funds are advised to prepare the necessary documentation in advance and to verify whether they meet the conditions imposed by the program.
