Slovakia sends radars and specialists to Romania to monitor the eastern border
Slovakia recently announced that it will send low-altitude radar equipment to Romania, accompanied by specialized personnel. This decision comes in the context of joint efforts to strengthen security on NATO's eastern flank, during a period marked by regional geopolitical challenges.
The main purpose of this mission is to improve airspace surveillance capabilities at Romania's eastern border. The radars sent by Slovakia are capable of detecting objects flying at low altitudes, thus providing better monitoring of the border area.
In addition to the technical equipment, Slovak personnel will work closely with Romanian experts to ensure the efficient operation of the systems. This collaboration underscores the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries, both members of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen collective defense in the region. Through the presence of these radars, Romania aims to increase the level of safety for its citizens and contribute to the stability of the entire allied airspace in Eastern Europe.
