Public healthcare in Europe: Citizen satisfaction is declining
A new recent report, titled STADA Health 2026, shows that the satisfaction level of Europeans with public healthcare systems has declined for the second consecutive year. According to the collected data, the percentage of people satisfied with state-provided medical services reached 56% in 2026, compared to 58% the previous year.
This downward trend reflects growing dissatisfaction among the European population. The study highlights that, although access to medical care remains a priority for governments, the quality and efficiency of these services do not always manage to keep pace with patient expectations.
The situation is also being closely monitored in Romania, where the healthcare system faces similar challenges. Romanian citizens, like the rest of Europeans, feel the pressure on medical resources, and the report indicates the need for faster reforms to improve the patient experience in state hospitals.
In conclusion, the results of the STADA Health 2026 report represent a warning signal for authorities across Europe. Improving public healthcare systems has become an urgent necessity to regain citizens' trust and to ensure quality medical services for everyone.
