Major technical issues: Facebook platform unavailable for users in Romania
On Sunday morning, Facebook social media users in Romania faced significant technical difficulties. The platform became inaccessible to thousands of people starting at 10:40 AM, primarily affecting the browser version of the site.
The problems were not limited to our country's territory. Reports indicate that users in several countries encountered similar errors during the same time frame, suggesting a global failure of Meta's technical infrastructure.
Those who tried to access their personal accounts noticed that pages were not loading correctly or that login sessions were interrupted. Although the mobile app worked intermittently for some users, the desktop version remained non-functional for a considerable period of time.
The parent company, Meta, did not immediately provide technical details regarding the exact cause of the incident. Such outages are rare but can cause discomfort for users who rely on the platform both for communicating with friends and for managing business pages or interest groups.
Currently, services appear to have returned to normal for most users in Romania. Technology experts recommend that users update their applications and check their security settings in case they encounter persistent difficulties after the server-level issues are resolved.
