The Mureșan Government: How the ministries were divided among the coalition parties
After intense negotiations, the new structure of the Government led by Mureșan has been officially established. The three parties forming the governing coalition have reached an agreement on the distribution of ministerial portfolios, thus ensuring the functioning of the future cabinet.
According to the agreement, the National Liberal Party (PNL) holds the most portfolios, with seven ministries under its authority. The Save Romania Union (USR) has received five ministries, while the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) will manage three ministries important to the governing program.
A novelty of this cabinet is the leadership structure, which includes three deputy prime ministers. Each of the three coalition parties will have a representative in the position of deputy prime minister, thus ensuring a balance in the high-level decision-making process.
Furthermore, the leadership of the General Secretariat of the Government, an essential institution for coordinating executive activity, has been established. This appointment completes the government team, paving the way for the start of the new cabinet's official term.
This government formula marks an important step for Romania's political stability. The designated ministers are now set to go through parliamentary hearing and validation procedures before officially taking up their duties within the ministries.
