Nicușor Dan on security risks: Romania must remain prepared
The Mayor General of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, recently addressed the subject of national security in the context of current geopolitical tensions in the region. He provided a perspective on the possibility of Russia expanding the conflict in Ukraine to neighboring states, including Romania.
According to his statements, a direct attack by Russia on Romania or other neighboring countries is not considered a very likely scenario in the near future. The official stated that, in his opinion, this risk is low for the next one or two years.
However, Nicușor Dan emphasized the importance of caution and constant vigilance. Even if the probability of an armed conflict is low at this moment, he insisted that Romania must be prepared for any unforeseen development in the international situation.
This position reflects the concerns of the Romanian authorities regarding national security and the importance of maintaining a solid defense capacity. The main message conveyed is that, although there is no reason for immediate panic, the state's responsibility is to always be prepared to protect its citizens.
