Historic performance for Romanian women's basketball: The U18 national team has been promoted to Division A
The Romania women's U18 national basketball team achieved a spectacular victory against Lithuania, thus managing to qualify for the final of the European Championship. This success not only brings the team to the final act of the competition but also confirms the official promotion of the "tricolores" to the European Division A.
The match was dominated by our players, who showed excellent physical and tactical form. The top scorer of the game was Velcea, who managed to score 29 points. She was effectively supported by her teammates, Ilieș, who contributed 16 points, and Babadac, with 13 points.
On the other side, the Lithuanian team encountered difficulties in blocking Romania's attacks. The best players for the opponents were Prismontaite and Griskute, but their efforts were not enough to stop the impressive run of the athletes from Romania.
This qualification represents an important moment for women's basketball in our country. Promotion to Division A offers the U18 national team the opportunity to compete, in the future, against the strongest teams on the continent, marking a step forward for the development of this sport in Romania.
