Wizz Air changes its strategy in Romania after two decades of activity
Low-cost airline Wizz Air, one of the most important operators on the Romanian market, has announced a change in its business strategy. This decision comes after 20 years of continuous presence in our country, a period during which the company has become an essential player for the air transport of Romanian passengers.
Currently, Wizz Air holds a vast network in Romania, operating 232 routes that connect to 26 different countries. This complex infrastructure is supported by nine operational bases established in various cities, as well as services offered at five additional airports in the country.
Although the company has not provided technical details about the new directions, the change in strategy suggests an adaptation to the new conditions of the European market and the increasing demands of travelers. This evolution could influence the frequency of flights or the destinations available to Romanians who choose to travel for tourism or professional purposes.
For passengers in Romania, these changes are important because Wizz Air represents one of the main options for affordable flights. It remains to be seen how these changes will be reflected in ticket prices and route availability in the long term.
