Ministry of Health begins an audit on the availability of medicines in Romania
The interim Minister of Health recently announced the start of a national audit targeting how medicine stocks in the country are monitored and supervised. This decision comes in response to concerns regarding patients' access to necessary treatments in healthcare facilities.
The verification process will be complex and will analyze the activity of several key institutions. Among the entities targeted by this inspection are the administrative structures within the Ministry of Health, hospital units across the country, as well as the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices.
The main goal of this audit is to identify potential bottlenecks in the supply chain and to improve current reporting mechanisms. Authorities want to ensure that hospitals have the necessary resources to provide appropriate medical care to all patients, without interruptions caused by a lack of medicines.
In the coming period, control teams will evaluate the efficiency of current procedures and propose optimization measures. The results of this audit will form the basis for administrative changes intended to guarantee better management of medicine stocks at a national level.
This initiative represents an important step for the Romanian medical system, with the final objective of increasing patient safety. The authorities promise total transparency regarding the findings of the inspections and the rapid implementation of necessary solutions to prevent supply crises in the future.
