Unusual heatwave in Romania: Record temperatures recorded in several regions
Romania is facing a period of extremely hot weather for this time of year. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has announced that our country has recorded, for the fifth consecutive day, temperature records that exceed the usual values for this interval.
The heat was felt in several areas of the country, where the mercury in thermometers climbed to unusually high values from the early morning hours. This data indicates a rare meteorological phenomenon, which has affected both the west and the east of Romania.
Among the hottest spots on the map was Bihor County, where 26.8 degrees Celsius was recorded. Also, the town of Șiria in Arad County reported a temperature of 25.1 degrees Celsius, while in Cotnari, Iași County, thermometers indicated 24.6 degrees Celsius.
Specialists from the ANM are constantly monitoring the situation, given that these temperatures are well above the specific multi-annual averages. Authorities recommend that the population be careful about hydration and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the midday hours for the duration of this warm weather episode.
