Romania and Ukraine collaborate on the development and production of military drones
Romania and Ukraine have begun official discussions to collaborate in the field of military technology, focusing specifically on the research, development, and production of drones. This strategic initiative aims to create new types of unmanned aerial systems, adapted to current security needs in the region.
The project benefits from an estimated budget of 200 million euros, funds that will be directed toward innovation and the manufacturing of the necessary equipment. The Ministry of National Defence (MApN) confirmed that the partnership aims to strengthen defense capabilities through the use of modern and efficient technologies.
This cooperation represents an important step for the Romanian defense industry, offering the opportunity to integrate local technical expertise into large-scale international projects. The development of drones has become a global priority in the context of recent conflicts, where these devices play an essential role in surveillance and protection.
In the coming period, authorities from the two countries will establish the technical details and the steps necessary for the implementation of this plan. The success of this endeavor could transform Romania into an important regional hub for the production of advanced military technology, thereby contributing to the stability of NATO's eastern flank.
