Bucharest Transport Society enters insolvency to avoid bank account freezes
The Bucharest Transport Society (STB) is facing a difficult financial situation, which has led to a major decision for the future of public transport in the capital. The institution's management has officially announced the company's entry into insolvency proceedings.
General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu explained that this measure is necessary to protect the company's operations. According to the mayor, insolvency represents the only viable solution at this moment to avoid the freezing of STB's bank accounts by creditors.
Through this legal procedure, STB hopes to be able to reorganize its debts and ensure the continuity of transport services for citizens. In the coming period, efforts will be made to stabilize the company's financial situation so that the daily operation of buses, trams, and trolleybuses is not affected.
Local authorities are closely monitoring the insolvency process to ensure that Bucharest residents will continue to benefit from public transport. The decision marks a critical moment for one of the most important public utility companies in Romania.
