The relationship between Romania and France: Priorities in energy, defense, and technology
On the occasion of France's National Day, Romanian officials emphasized the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. Ilie Bolojan, President of the Bihor County Council, conveyed a clear message regarding Romania's desire to attract more French investment in essential sectors such as energy, defense, and technology.
This economic collaboration comes in an international context marked by security challenges. The French Ambassador to Romania reiterated that his country's main priority remains the defense of NATO's eastern flank, underscoring Paris's firm commitment to the stability of the region.
During the discussions, the issue of the SAFE initiative, a project aimed at cooperation in the field of security, was also addressed. French representatives stated that the success of this endeavor depends on the active involvement of both parties, noting that it takes two signatories to implement the proposed measures.
This bilateral cooperation reflects the desire of both states to modernize critical infrastructure and ensure more effective protection within the North Atlantic Alliance.
