Romania participates in WorldSkills 2026: 13 talented young people compete in Shanghai
The international WorldSkills 2026 competition, also known as the "Olympics of trades," has officially begun in Shanghai. This large-scale event brings together approximately 1,400 young people from nearly 70 countries and regions, who are demonstrating their practical skills in 64 different professional fields.
Romania is represented at this competition by a team of 13 contestants. They will compete in 11 diverse trades, demonstrating technical and practical skills acquired during their studies. It is an important opportunity for young Romanians to compare themselves with the best specialists in the world in their fields of activity.
A remarkable aspect of our delegation is the fact that more than half of the Romanian participants are students. This presence underscores the importance of vocational and technical education in Romania, offering young people the chance to build a solid career while still in school.
Participation in WorldSkills represents a valuable experience, not only for the contestants but also for our country's education system. The competition promotes excellence in trades and encourages young people to choose practical professional paths, which are essential for the development of the modern economy.
In the coming days, Romania's representatives will go through difficult tests designed to challenge their creativity, precision, and work speed. Their results will be followed with interest, serving as proof of the talent and preparation of Romania's younger generation on the international stage.
