Timișoara becomes the center of innovation for protecting European cultural heritage
The King Mihai I University of Life Sciences in Timișoara is currently hosting a large-scale international initiative dedicated to protecting cultural heritage. The event brings together renowned specialists and students from 14 countries, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of historical monument conservation.
The main goal of this project is the integration of advanced technologies into the restoration and monitoring process of cultural sites. Participants are exploring modern methods, such as 3D scanning and the use of artificial intelligence, to ensure the long-term preservation of buildings and artifacts that are part of our shared history.
Throughout the meetings, experts are emphasizing the importance of educating the younger generation in this field. Students have the opportunity to learn directly from professionals how innovative technical solutions can be applied to real-world projects, thereby contributing to the rescue of sites at risk of degradation due to the passage of time or environmental factors.
This initiative highlights the active role that Romania plays within European research networks. By hosting such events, Timișoara asserts itself as an important point on Europe's academic and cultural map, demonstrating that technology and tradition can work together for the future.
The event will conclude with the presentation of joint action strategies, which will be implemented in various partner countries. The organizers hope that these technological solutions will become a standard in heritage conservation work, ensuring the protection of cultural values for future generations.
