Pro TV prepares the launch of a new sports channel in Romania
The Romanian media market could soon have a new major player in the field of sports broadcasting. The Pro TV Group has taken an official step in this direction by submitting a request to the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) to obtain a broadcasting license.
The new television channel is set to be called "VOYO Sport 1." This initiative comes in the context where the VOYO platform, the group's streaming service, has already begun broadcasting a wide range of sports competitions, from football to other disciplines popular among the Romanian public.
Through this move, Pro TV aims to consolidate its presence in the sports broadcasting segment, offering viewers an alternative dedicated exclusively to this type of content. The decision to move from the online environment to linear television shows the company's desire to attract a wider audience.
Currently, the file is under review by CNA members, who must verify whether the request complies with all current legal standards. If the license is approved, "VOYO Sport 1" will join the other specialized channels that already dominate the media market in our country.
