Ten years of innovation: The FIRST Tech Challenge robotics program has changed the future of thousands of Romanian students
The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Romania educational program recently marked an important anniversary, celebrating ten years of activity dedicated to young technology enthusiasts. This initiative has become a benchmark for STEM education in our country, offering students the opportunity to learn robotics in a competitive and creative environment.
Since its launch, the program has had a significant impact on the school community. Over 10,800 students from across the country have participated in competitions, developing their technical and teamwork skills. Furthermore, the success of this project has been supported by the involvement of 550 mentor teachers and 600 volunteers, who have guided the young people in the process of building and programming robots.
Over this decade, 236 robotics teams have been formed, representing Romania successfully at numerous national and international events. Participating in these competitions has allowed students not only to learn engineering but also to find practical solutions to complex problems, thus preparing them for their future careers in technical fields.
The ten-year anniversary confirms that Romania holds an important place on the global map of educational robotics. The organizers emphasize that the program's success is due to the students' passion and their desire to innovate, transforming education into a practical and engaging experience.
Looking to the future, FIRST Tech Challenge Romania aims to continue supporting young talent and to expand access to technological education for as many students as possible. This initiative remains an example of how a passion for science can create strong communities and prepare the next generation for the technological challenges of the 21st century.
