Ten years of innovation: The FIRST Tech Challenge robotics program has transformed education in Romania
The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Romania robotics program recently celebrated ten years of activity, marking a decade of performance and innovation in technological education. This initiative has become a benchmark for students passionate about science and technology, providing them with an organized framework where they can put their creative ideas into practice.
Since its launch, the program has recorded impressive figures, demonstrating a growing interest in STEM fields among young people. Over 10,800 students from across the country have participated in competitions, guided by 550 mentor teachers. These numbers reflect the young generation's desire to prepare for the challenges of the future in a collaborative environment.
The impact of the program is not limited to students and teachers. Approximately 600 volunteers have contributed to the success of these events, forming a community united around 236 robotics teams. These teams have managed to build complex robots, demonstrating advanced technical skills and the ability to solve real-world problems through engineering.
Through their involvement in the FIRST Tech Challenge, Romanian students not only learn to program or build mechanisms, but also develop essential skills for the job market, such as teamwork and critical thinking. The success of this program shows that technological education is an important pillar for the development of digital skills in Romania.
On its tenth anniversary, FIRST Tech Challenge Romania remains a model of success, continuing to inspire thousands of young people to pursue careers in technology. Through the constant efforts of mentors and the enthusiasm of students, the program promises to remain an essential platform for the country's future engineers and innovators.
