Romania becomes the center of innovation for protecting European cultural heritage
Romania is currently hosting a large-scale international program dedicated to the use of advanced technologies in the conservation of cultural heritage. The event brings together renowned specialists and students from 14 countries, who are collaborating to find modern solutions for protecting historical monuments and art objects.
The main goal of this program is to integrate digitalization into the restoration process. Participants are exploring ways in which technology can help prevent the degradation of archaeological sites and heritage buildings. This initiative highlights the importance of cross-border collaboration in the face of the challenges that the passage of time poses to our common history.
Throughout the working sessions, students have the opportunity to learn from international experts about 3D scanning, augmented reality, and the use of artificial intelligence in archiving cultural data. These tools allow for the creation of precise digital copies, which can be used for future restorations or for public education.
This project puts Romania on the European map of innovation in the cultural field. Through the exchange of experience and knowledge, our country is actively contributing to the development of sustainable conservation methods, ensuring that cultural heritage remains accessible to future generations.
