CURS Poll: Majority of Romanians are pessimistic about the country's direction

A recent poll conducted by CURS shows a worrying mood among the population in Romania. According to the data collected, 79% of respondents believe that the country is heading in the wrong direction, while only 15% believe that the current evolution is a positive one.

The study also highlights a deep distrust among citizens in state institutions. Trust in Parliament and the Government is at very low levels, and the institution of the presidency and the judiciary enjoy the support of less than 30% of those surveyed.

Another aspect addressed by the poll concerns the Romanians' perception of the country's defense capability. Half of the study participants believe that the Romanian Army would not be able to resist for more than two days in the event of a foreign invasion, reflecting a widespread fear regarding national security.

These figures indicate a gap between citizens' expectations and the activity of public institutions. The survey results provide a clear picture of social dissatisfaction and the lack of trust in current political leaders, serving as an important topic of debate for Romanian society in the coming period.
