Romania faces a new heatwave: Temperatures to reach 40 degrees Celsius
The National Meteorological Administration has issued a warning for the coming days, announcing a new episode of severe heat that will affect most regions of Romania. Temperatures will rise significantly, and thermometer readings could reach the 40-degree Celsius threshold in isolated areas.
In addition to the extreme daytime temperatures, meteorologists are also warning of high thermal discomfort. This will be felt intensely in urban areas, where asphalt and buildings retain heat, making the air difficult to breathe. Furthermore, residents in several counties will face tropical nights, during which temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees Celsius.
Authorities recommend that the public avoid travel during peak hours, specifically between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. It is essential for citizens to stay properly hydrated, consume fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid drinks containing excessive sugar or caffeine. Additionally, vulnerable individuals, such as the elderly or children, are advised to remain in cool spaces.
This heatwave is part of a series of extreme weather phenomena that have marked this summer. Specialists are constantly monitoring the weather's evolution and will update warnings based on changes that may occur in the coming days. All citizens are advised to follow official weather reports to stay informed with the latest information.
