The Romanian Army is in urgent need of anti-drone systems, officials declare
Recently, Romania's airspace has been targeted by several incidents involving unidentified drones. These events have drawn the authorities' attention to the need to modernize the country's defense equipment to respond quickly to new security challenges in the region.
Between July 24 and 26, the Romanian Air Force had to intervene to shoot down three drones that violated national territory. Also, on July 27, another drone temporarily entered Romania's airspace, generating concern among the population and defense officials.
In the context of these incidents, political leaders have emphasized that the Romanian Army must be equipped as quickly as possible with technology capable of detecting and effectively combating such aircraft. Investments in anti-drone systems are now considered a priority to ensure the safety of citizens and the integrity of the borders.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation at the border with Ukraine, where the military conflict has led to an increase in security risks. Military specialists are currently analyzing the best technical solutions to protect the national airspace against similar intrusions in the future.
