New digital literacy program for seniors in Bucharest
The 50 Plus Community Association has recently launched an important project titled "Digital 50+", aimed at senior citizens in Bucharest. The initiative aims to help seniors learn how to use modern technology, offering them the necessary skills to navigate the internet safely and use smart devices.
Within this program, participants will learn essential steps, such as creating and managing email accounts, using social media to stay in touch with family, and accessing online public services. The organizers believe that this knowledge is vital in the current context, where many daily activities have moved to the virtual environment.
The courses are adapted to the specific needs of seniors, focusing on patience and clear, step-by-step explanations. The volunteers involved in the project will provide individual support to each student, ensuring they understand how to avoid online risks, such as fraud attempts or fake news.
Through this effort, the 50 Plus Community Association aims to reduce the technological gap between generations and combat the social isolation of the elderly. Access to information and digital tools gives seniors greater independence and the opportunity to remain connected to community life.
Those interested in participating in the program or finding out more details about registration can contact the association's representatives directly. "Digital 50+" represents an important step for the social inclusion of the elderly in the capital, transforming technology into a useful ally in their daily lives.
