United States supports the "Vertical Corridor" for gas transport through Romania
The United States of America has officially expressed its interest in the energy project known as the "Vertical Corridor." This strategic natural gas transport route is intended to connect Greece with Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia, thereby facilitating the diversification of energy sources in the region.
The Romanian Minister of Energy has confirmed the importance of this project for the country's energy security. Through this corridor, natural gas sourced from the United States, in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG), could more easily reach markets in Central and Eastern Europe by utilizing existing infrastructure and future interconnections.
The project is considered essential for reducing energy dependence on traditional suppliers. The "Vertical Corridor" allows for the bidirectional transport of gas, which means that Romania can become an important hub in the distribution of energy resources to neighboring states, thereby consolidating its position on the European Union's energy map.
Currently, Romanian authorities are working with international partners to complete the necessary work on the transport pipelines. It is estimated that this route will bring more stability to energy prices and provide a secure alternative for industrial and household consumers in the region.
This initiative represents an important step in the collaboration between Romania and the United States in the energy sector. As the project advances, gas flows are expected to increase, offering greater flexibility and security for all countries involved in this strategic corridor.
