Russia expands opportunities for contract military service
The State Duma of the Russian Federation is considering a new bill that introduces changes to the rules for military conscription. According to the document, opportunities for signing contracts with the Ministry of Defense will be expanded. This decision is aimed at increasing the number of potential candidates for participation in the special military operation.
New rules suggest that citizens with a criminal record will be able to sign contracts with the armed forces under certain conditions. Previously, such restrictions were more stringent; however, the authorities now plan to simplify the selection procedure for this category of citizens. Legislators note that this will allow for the mobilization of additional resources to fulfill assigned tasks.
Experts emphasize that the implementation of this project is part of an overall strategy to strengthen the army's personnel. The initiative is aimed at giving people who have committed offenses the opportunity to change their status through service. It is expected that the adoption of the law will help achieve the goals set by the country's leadership more quickly.
At the moment, the bill is undergoing the necessary stages of discussion in parliament. In the event of its final adoption, the new regulations will come into force in the near future. The government continues to monitor the situation and is prepared to make additional adjustments to the conscription rules if required to ensure the security of the state.
