Funding for the fight against cancer in Russia: plans for the coming years
According to the new draft state budget, changes are expected in Russia regarding the funding levels for programs to combat oncological diseases. In the coming years, the allocation of funds will be uneven, which is drawing the attention of experts and the public.
According to the data presented, a significant reduction in budget allocations for the fight against cancer is planned for 2027. According to preliminary calculations, the volume of funding may decrease by 11 times compared to current figures. This change is part of the long-term financial planning presented in the draft budget.
However, experts note that the period of reduction will be temporary. According to the document, state expenditures on oncological care will begin to gradually increase after 2027. It is expected that by 2028, funding will amount to 5.76 billion rubles, and by 2029, this amount could grow to 12.78 billion rubles.
The issue of providing medical care to cancer patients remains one of the priority areas in the Russian healthcare system. Regular updates to federal programs allow for the support of specialized centers and ensure that patients are provided with necessary medications.
Thus, despite the projected decline in 2027, the overall development strategy for the healthcare system involves a further increase in investments in the fight against dangerous diseases in subsequent periods.
