Belarusian Foreign Minister speaks out on Western position regarding the Ukrainian conflict
Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov has issued a statement regarding the current situation surrounding the conflict in Ukraine. According to the Belarusian diplomat, Western countries are not showing a genuine desire for a peaceful resolution to the situation.
In his speech, Ryzhenkov emphasized that the actions of the European Union and other Western countries are aimed at achieving different goals. He asserts that Western politicians have set themselves the task of inflicting a "civilizational defeat" on Russia.
According to the Belarusian side's position, Western states are striving to weaken Russia's economic and political influence on the international stage as much as possible. The minister noted that such actions, in his opinion, are aimed at breaking the country's current course of development.
This statement was made against the backdrop of ongoing discussions regarding the prospects for peace negotiations. Official Minsk has repeatedly emphasized its concern over the current level of tension in the region and the role of external players in this process.
