Russia conducts first data transmission via low-Earth orbit satellite communication
An important event for the Russian technology industry took place at the "Digital Solutions" forum. The company "Bureau 1440" successfully demonstrated the operation of a low-Earth orbit satellite communication system, signing an official agreement live on air for the first time using this technology.
Low-Earth orbit satellites are located closer to Earth than traditional spacecraft. This allows for a significant increase in data transmission speeds and a reduction in signal latency. The new technology could become the foundation for high-speed internet in the most remote corners of the country, where laying cables is impossible or too expensive.
Developing a domestic satellite constellation is a strategic priority for Russia. Such systems help ensure stable communication for businesses, government services, and ordinary users. The successful experiment at the forum confirms the readiness of Russian developers to implement advanced solutions in the telecommunications sector.
In the near future, the company plans to increase the number of satellites in orbit to make the service available to a wide range of consumers. It is expected that the development of this project will help reduce the digital divide between large cities and hard-to-reach regions of Russia.
