French authorities demand expulsion of former head of RT bureau in France
The Paris Police Prefecture has issued an official order requiring Ksenia Fedorova, the former head of the Russia Today (RT) bureau in France, to leave the country. This was reported by the newspaper Le Monde, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to the French side, the expulsion decision is linked to national security concerns. French authorities have tightened control over the activities of foreign media organizations against the backdrop of a complex geopolitical situation and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Ksenia Fedorova headed the French division of RT for several years. Previously, the channel's operations in France were restricted due to European Union sanctions, which led to the blocking of broadcasts and the freezing of the organization's accounts in the country.
At this moment, official representatives of the Russian side and Ksenia Fedorova herself have not provided detailed comments regarding this decision. The situation remains a subject of discussion in diplomatic circles, as such measures often lead to retaliatory actions by Russian authorities against Western journalists working in Russia.
