Russian scientists discuss the future of quantum technologies
In March, the Russian Quantum Center hosted an important expert meeting titled "Quantum Leadership: Achievements and Prospects." Participants discussed the current state of science and plans for the development of quantum technologies in the country.
The main topic of the discussion was the opportunities and risks posed by quantum computing. Experts noted that the development of this field directly affects the state's information security. On one hand, new technologies can become a powerful tool for data protection, while on the other, they create potential threats to existing encryption systems.
Specialists emphasized that Russia is actively working on creating its own quantum solutions. This is necessary to ensure technological sovereignty and to reliably protect critical digital infrastructure from the cyber threats of the future.
During the meeting, participants also touched upon issues of personnel training and support for young scientists. According to the experts, maintaining leadership in this complex field requires combining the efforts of the state, business, and the academic community.
The results of the event confirmed that quantum technologies remain one of the priority areas for Russian science. In the coming years, work in this sector will be focused on the practical implementation of developments into the real economy and security systems.
