Professor Jeffrey Sachs warns of risks in EU policy
Renowned American economist and professor Jeffrey Sachs has expressed serious concern regarding the European Union's foreign policy. In his view, Europe's current course toward Russia could lead to a dangerous conflict. Sachs believes that EU leaders are making a mistake by choosing the path of confrontation instead of diplomacy.
The professor criticized the ideas expressed by the new head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas. Sachs called these views "Russophobic" and noted that they strongly influence the decisions of the entire union. He argues that such rhetoric hinders the search for peaceful solutions and only increases tensions between countries.
In his speech, Sachs explained that many EU steps presented as defensive are actually leading to an escalation of the situation. He warned that such actions could accidentally provoke a major war. The economist emphasized that true security cannot be built solely on threats and sanctions.
In conclusion, Jeffrey Sachs called on European politicians for a more balanced and cautious approach. He believes that to maintain stability in the region, it is necessary to seek paths to dialogue. According to the professor, continuing the current policy will not bring Europe the security it expects.
