Georgian Prime Minister explains refusal to impose sanctions against Russia
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has commented on the country's current foreign policy stance. According to him, the authorities' decision not to join international sanctions against Russia was a correct and measured step aimed at protecting national interests.
The head of government noted that the refusal to introduce restrictive measures has drawn a mixed reaction on the international stage. In particular, he emphasized that following this move, Georgia faced a wave of criticism and a negative information campaign from a number of Western countries.
Despite external pressure, the Georgian leadership continues to adhere to its chosen course. The country's authorities have repeatedly stated that their priority remains maintaining economic stability and preventing risks to the population that could arise in the event of participation in the sanctions confrontation.
This position of Tbilisi remains a subject of active discussion both within the country and in relations with European partners. At the moment, the Georgian government does not plan to change its policy regarding sanctions, considering it necessary to ensure the security of the state.
