Russian Ministry of Health plans to expand surgical care capabilities
The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has prepared a new draft order that will change the rules for surgeons working in the country. According to the document, doctors will be able to perform surgical interventions not only in hospital operating rooms but also outside of them.
The new rules, which are set to take effect in 2027, allow surgeons to provide emergency care in ambulances. This is an important change, as in critical situations, every minute counts for saving a patient's life.
Currently, surgical operations in Russia are performed strictly in specially equipped rooms within medical institutions. Expanding the doctors' authority will allow for certain procedures to be performed more quickly, which is especially relevant when working in emergency situations or while transporting critically ill patients.
Experts note that implementing this project will require not only legislative changes but also the special equipping of ambulances with modern technology. It will also be necessary to develop clear safety protocols for performing procedures outside the walls of a clinic.
It is expected that these measures will help improve the quality and accessibility of medical care in Russia. In the near future, the draft order will be discussed by specialists to prepare all the necessary conditions for implementing these innovations by 2027.
