Delivery robots assist doctors in Moscow hospitals
The first phase of testing for special delivery robots has been successfully completed in Moscow hospitals. The project, launched in March of this year, aims to ease the workload of medical staff and allow doctors to dedicate more time to their patients.
At present, six such robots are operating in the capital's medical facilities. Their primary task is the transportation of medications, lab samples, and supplies between departments. By automating routine tasks, the robots have already helped save nearly 3,000 working hours for hospital staff.
The use of technology in medicine allows for the optimization of internal processes. The robots move around hospital grounds autonomously, following set routes, and do not require constant human control. This reduces the physical burden on nurses and orderlies, who previously spent a significant amount of time moving between buildings.
Moscow authorities plan to analyze the results of the pilot project to decide on its further expansion. If the technology proves its effectiveness in the long term, the number of robots in city clinics may increase, which would mark an important step in the digitalization of the healthcare system.
