United Russia to audit admission rules for 10th grade
The United Russia party has launched an initiative to audit the legality of restrictions on admitting students to the 10th grade. Recently, there has been an increase in complaints from parents that children are not being accepted into high school due to low grades or the results of internal exams.
Party representatives emphasized that every child has the right to receive a secondary general education. According to the deputies, schools should not create artificial barriers for students who wish to continue their studies after the 9th grade.
Currently, schools in many regions of Russia conduct competitive selection to form specialized classes. However, as noted by United Russia, such rules often violate children's rights if there are no spots left for them in general classes at their place of residence.
The party plans to monitor the situation in all constituent entities of the country in conjunction with the Ministry of Education. The goal of the audit is to identify cases of unjustified refusals and ensure the accessibility of education for all 9th-grade graduates.
The results of this work are intended to help make the high school enrollment process more transparent and fair for students and their parents across Russia.
