Saldo reports increase in foreign mercenaries in Kherson region

Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo has made a statement regarding the current situation on the right bank of the Dnieper. According to him, the number of foreign mercenaries in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is growing. This information has attracted the attention of the media and military experts monitoring changes on the front line.

Saldo noted that the presence of foreign fighters is particularly noticeable in areas currently under Kyiv's control. He claims that these individuals come from various countries around the world to participate in combat operations. According to the governor, the number of such specialists in the region continues to increase.

In his statement, Saldo also expressed his opinion on the mercenaries' attitude toward the local population. He believes that foreign fighters do not always take the interests and safety of the region's residents into account. However, it is important to emphasize that official representatives of Ukraine refer to such individuals as volunteers of the "International Legion" who are helping to defend the country.

The issue of foreign citizens' participation in the conflict has been discussed for a long time. The Russian side regularly reports the discovery and destruction of deployment points for foreign legionnaires. At the same time, Ukrainian authorities state that all foreigners within the AFU operate on legal grounds and of their own free will.

The situation in the Kherson region remains tense. The Dnieper River divides the region into two parts, and both sides continue to actively strengthen their positions. The use of foreign resources, including equipment and manpower, remains a significant factor in the current military confrontation.
