Drone attack on oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk
On the morning of August 20, it was reported that unmanned aerial vehicles had attacked an industrial facility in the Republic of Tatarstan. The target of the attack was the Taneco oil refinery, located in the city of Nizhnekamsk.
Information regarding the drone strikes was confirmed by Fire Point, a company specializing in the development of unmanned systems. According to their statement, Ukrainian FP-1 model drones were used to strike the facility's infrastructure.
At this time, official representatives of the region's emergency services and the refinery's management are assessing the extent of the damage. Videos have appeared on social media capturing the moment of the incident and the subsequent smoke at the industrial site.
The situation at the facility is under the control of the relevant authorities. Specialists are evaluating the condition of the equipment and the safety of production processes. There has been no official information regarding casualties resulting from the incident at this time.
