Diesel Export Ban & Rules for Migrants
The government is restricting diesel fuel exports to curb prices, while the State Duma introduces new requirements for the children of foreign workers. The country is also recording a further rise in inflation and creating special mobile groups for protection against drones.
The government is considering a ban on diesel exports to prevent shortages and a sharp rise in prices at Russian gas stations. During a meeting between the President and the Cabinet of Ministers, an increase in fuel demand and support for small refineries (oil processing plants) were discussed. These measures are aimed at saturating the domestic market and stabilizing fuel costs for drivers.
The changes will also affect the families of foreign citizens: the children of migrants working under a patent will be required to leave Russia upon reaching the age of 18 if they do not obtain their own documents. According to new amendments by the State Duma, they will have 30 days to obtain a patent or other status; otherwise, they will have to leave the country. Previously, such children could stay in the Russian Federation based on their parents' permits.
The issue of the cost of living remains relevant in other areas as well — a further acceleration of inflation has been recorded in Russia. Rising prices for goods and services continue to put pressure on citizens' budgets, requiring residents to plan their daily expenses more carefully.
In addition to economic challenges, attention is also being paid to physical security: mobile anti-drone groups are being created in the regions to protect facilities from aerial attacks. These units are equipped with tools for detecting and destroying drones in the sky, which is expected to increase the protection of infrastructure and residential areas.
