SIPRI: Russia has increased the number of deployed nuclear warheads
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has published a new report on the state of global nuclear arsenals. According to the organization's data, as of the beginning of 2025, Russia has increased the number of deployed nuclear warheads to 1,718 units. This is the highest figure in the last nine years.
Deployed warheads are considered to be those installed on missiles or located at bases where operational forces are stationed. Experts note that the increase in the number of such warheads has become a noticeable change in Russian nuclear policy over the recent period.
At the same time, according to the SIPRI report, the United States of America has maintained its previous pace of nuclear capability development. The number of deployed American warheads has remained at the same level, despite the general trend toward the modernization of nuclear weapons in many countries around the world.
Analysts emphasize that the situation with nuclear armaments remains an important factor in global security. The increase in the number of warheads is attracting the attention of the international community, as issues of arms control continue to be discussed at the highest level.
At the moment, experts continue to monitor the development of events. The SIPRI report serves as an important source of information for understanding the current state of the nuclear forces of the world's major powers.
